Acrylic paint on stretched canvas

  • Goldfinches – I had not been in my studio for a week as I felt that I had lost my art mojo, my mood was dark and I was not coping very well with the Covid-19 restrictions. When I finally went out and started this painting I sponged on textured black paint in readiness for a dismal image to reflect my mood.

I don’t know how it happened, but I found myself painting fanciful foliage, then these gorgeous little finches with highlights in gold on their feathers and finally a pop of bright red on their heads. I found myself smiling, whistling some happy tunes, dancing around my studio whilst celebrating each successful stage. Now I am convinced that making and viewing art can brighten up ones life in the darkest of times.

Do hope this painting brightens up your life, lifts you out of the doldrums and into a happier place at least for a while.

This painting is signed on the front and a laminated, numbered Certificate of Authenticity is included. Sprayed with protective gloss varnish. Sides painted black to match front.

In the photos, where the painting is shown mounted on a wall, these are purely for illustrative purposes. You should review the dimension of the artwork to be sure the work suits your needs.
