My name is Anna Newbey and I live at the foothills of the Darling Ranges Byford WA.
I love to paint and my main aim is to make people smile. I would describe my paintings as quirky and colourful.
My subjects are birds and animals and occasionally still life. Although I have been painting for quite a few years, I have recently branched out to printing my works, which can then be framed by followers Australia wide.
I like to paint where my mood takes me, which keeps me in a very positive frame of mind.
I started painting with folkart in the nineties. I soon realised that I needed to expand my horizons and ventured into acrylics and mixed media. I try a wide variety of subjects from landscape‚ animals‚ birds and abstract. I love lots of colour as well as movement. I try not to make things "too lifelike" as I believe paintings should be more personal‚ sometimes quirky or surreal and have the artists personality evident. I just love to paint and hope people like what I paint.
I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork as much as I enjoy painting it.
